YEAH! Announces Inspiring Arts & Activism Workshop Series for March 2025

YEAH! is excited to present a dynamic series of Arts & Activism Workshops this March, bringing together young creatives and change-makers to explore the powerful intersection of artistic expression and social impact. This workshop series, a collaboration between YEAH!, Jessi Zazu Inc., and Random Sample, offers a unique opportunity for youth to learn, connect, and amplify their voices in meaningful ways.

The workshops will take place on three consecutive Saturdays:

  • March 8, 2025: Open to ages 6-12 - Featuring a simplified, accessible printing method involving foam and ink pads for beginners.

  • March 15, 2025: Open to ages 13-17 - Featuring a short talk with the team behind local DIY venue and art gallery Random Sample, who will be sharing their experiences in grassroots organizing and how the arts have played a pivotal role in their advocacy.

  • March 22, 2025: An all-ages session with guest speaker AB Bedran, multimedia artist and cultural advocate, exploring how visual art can inspire and mobilize communities.

Each interactive workshop will dive into using the arts as a tool for activism, because YEAH! believes that young people are powerful agents of change. This series is designed to empower participants to express their ideas, challenge injustices, and envision a better future—all through creative practice. Participants will gain hands-on experience, build connections with local artists and organizers, and leave with practical ideas for using their creativity to make a difference.

This workshop is a proud collaboration with Jessi Zazu Inc., a nonprofit organization dedicated to continuing the work and legacy of Jessi Zazu—a YEAH! alum, volunteer teacher, and vocalist for Those Darlins. Jessi used both her voice and her passion for visual arts to inspire social change and amplify activist efforts, making her an enduring figure in Nashville’s creative and activist communities. Through work in the arts, social justice, and women's health, Jessi Zazu Inc. honors her mission of empowerment and impact.

Additionally, Random Sample, a locally owned and operated DIY venue and art gallery, will serve as the host location for this series, reinforcing its commitment to fostering creativity, community, and accessibility in the Nashville arts scene.

The Arts & Activism Workshops will be led by Tina Simic and held at Random Sample. Registration is now open at bit.ly/yeahprograms. Spaces are limited, so early sign-up is encouraged! Parents are invited to join their youth for the all-ages session on March 22nd and take advantage of our special duo discount.
